Immature Stages of Ithonidae

Detailed information on immature stages of Ithonidae is being acquired. However, Tillyard (1922) reported that Ithone fusca Newm., was predaceous on soft-bodied insects, particularly scarabaeid larvae that inhabit sandy soil. However, Clausen (1940) stated that the larvae are unable to feed on other insects and probably derive their food from plant roots.
